I got the Aug, 2010 issue of Trials and Enduro News this week and it contains the Ryan Young tutorial series, Lesson 19, clearing gaps, on Page 34, with the drop-off turn coming next month.

Ray Peters and a student: crossing logs at Trials Training Days

We received an email from David Naismith (AKA MrOlddave) from the New England Trials Association (NETA) alerting us to this YouTube video of instructor Ray Peters working with an unidentified student during this year’s Trials Training Days. The log-crossing instruction is taking place in the TTC’s practice pit. The video shows 3 attempts by the student (he almost makes it on the 3rd attempt), and two demonstrations by Ray.

We have another video of Ray demonstrating riding over these logs in the How to Ride Trials section of our site. It’s titled Using the Skidpan.

Trials Comp News: now up to Lesson 9 in the Ryan Young tutorial series

I just got the Oct. 2009 issue of Trials Competition News and it contains the lesson I’ve been waiting for: Splatter!

I’m going to learn to splatter as soon as I get a little older.

Trials Competition Newspaper has been publishing The Trials Technique of Ryan Young series of motorcycle trials tutorials beginning in the Feb, 2009 issue of Trials Comp.

No, digital versions of the tutorials are NOT available here or anywhere else on the internet. The various authors/contributors/owners of that content are still working on the best way to make it available beyond publication in Trials Competition Newspaper.

But you can buy back issues of the paper (or better yet, subscribe!). Here are the tutorials that have been published to-date:

The upgrade to the How to Ride Motorcycle Trials (tutorials) section of the TTC website is now finished. Whew!

We improved the presentation of all the good stuff from the 2004-05 version and added lots more.

Let us know if you discover any glitches.

Where are those ‘Trials Technique of Ryan Young’ tutorials?

In early April, we began blogging a series of Ryan Young motorcycle trials tutorials that have been published in issues of Trials Competition Newspaper, starting in February.

It turns out there are complications with having digital versions of the tutorials available on the internet. The various authors/contributors/owners of that content are still working on the best way to make it available beyond the newspaper.

So we’ve removed those blog posts for now. If something changes, we’ll let you know right here in the TTC blog.
